Sir,

I most respectfully beg to bring to your notice the following facts which have occurred since the withdrawal from me of the Exchange Compensation allowance in September 1895, and will feel extremely obliged, if you think the circumstances of the case warrant it, to forward the same for His Excellency the Governor's favourable consideration.

Since the return of Ex-Inspector Hennessy, on pension, to his native place Newmarket County Cork, in the early part of 1898, we were made acquainted with the straitened circumstances of my Aunts, on my Stepfather's side (Mr. W. Lysaught).

Not having any living relations on my own father's side, and being the eldest of the family, it is not unnatural that they look to me for some pecuniary support.

Since last November I have, therefore, been remitting for the maintenance of one of my Aunts - the poorest, a widow and childless, Mrs. Ellen McAuliffe, of the Commons, Newmarket, County Cork.

True, my remittances have not been as frequent and regular as I would have wished them to be, but
